Engineer in Training
Are you type of person that’s enjoys getting your hands dirty across multiple spheres of Engineering from Firmware Development, Software Development, Database Development and Electromechanical interfaces?
We are looking for an EiT that will be part of a close-knit and focused development team responsible for the automated manufacturing testing of our MiX branded On Board Computers. This role would suit and Electronics Engineer Graduate who is interested in exposure to a broad range of Engineering disciplines within a Global Enterprise.
MiX Telematics has a vacancy for a Hardware/Firmware Engineer in Training (EiT). This is a 12 month contract position and the position is based in Somerset West.
The company would hereby like to invite all interested candidates who feel they meet the minimum requirements to apply for the position.
Responsibilities would include:
- Work with the engineering team to develop automated production test equipment.
- Develop test software with National Instruments’ LabVIEW graphical software and Teststand software framework suite.
- Develop schematics and PCBs using Altium designer software.
- Be able to do fault finding on circuits.
- Offer support to production and to production repair technicians.
- Conduct maintenance and upkeep of production equipment.
- Firmware and Software Development (C, C#)
- Database Design (SQL)
What you need to be successful:
- B. Engineering (Electronic, Mechatronic, Computer science) degree
- Masters’ degree would be a distinct advantage
- Has a good command of the English Language
