Global Product Manager – Video Telematics
MiX Telematics has a vacancy for a Global Product Manager – Video Telematics. The position is based in Stellenbosch, Cape Town and reports to the Head of Product Management.
The successful candidate must be a visionary, innovative and customer focused, curious and driven to make a positive impact on a large scale. Passionate about customers, their problems and using technology. An unconstrained and pragmatic thinker and thought leader in their problem domain.

Purpose:
This position is part of a team that relies on a high level of collaboration both internally within the team, the wider MiX Group, with customers, dealers and technology partners, and offers exposure to global markets to further develop exposure and experience.
Responsibilities:
Owning and driving the delivery and successful adoption of the MiX video telematics offering across our global markets. The video telematics offering covers both hardware and software domains on the edge and in the cloud and includes machine vision, machine learning and AI. This also includes related value-adding solutions such as driver risk assessment and performance management.
Responsibilities include the following activities:
- Market research
- Technology partner engagement
- Product concept development
- Directing product development
- Develop and implement go-to-market strategy
- Delivery and embedding of offering into our Regional Sales Organisations and Dealer channels
- Support of marketing, sales and customer success functions
- Lifecycle management including product evolution, strategy and roadmap
- Understanding MiX and our offering
- Customer/market engagement – understanding customer problems
- Effective engagement with prospective partners
- Becoming a thought leader in the technology domain within MiX
- Product value proposition/feature design
- Delivering a polished product offering and associated customer experience
- Growing global sales of our video telematics offering
Skills and Competencies:
- Structured research and analysis

- Story telling – both internal and customer-focused
- Interfacing with technical people e.g. customer IT or product development
- Interfacing with customers e.g. senior managers
- In-depth knowledge of machine vision technology, both hardware and software
Qualifications:
- In-depth knowledge of transport operations and/or the safety domain in different industry verticals
- Relevant tertiary degree/qualification
- In-depth knowledge of machine vision (AI) technology, both hardware and software and associated machine learning/AI technologies
- In-depth knowledge of relevant information technologies both hardware and software
- Product management experience
