MiX Telematics has a vacancy for a Financial Manager based in Midrand. Main objective of this role is to assume responsibility for the accurate and timeous reporting of all the Fleet entities’ financial results on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis for management to make informed financial and strategic decisions and as input into reporting. Management of day-to-day operations within the finance department. Maintain all compliance to company policies and procedures. Streamlining processes to bridge the gap between all finance related functions as well as take on from operational departments.

Responsibilities: -

  • Responsible for the management of the day-to-day operations and team within the finance department
  • Ensure that suppliers are paid on time and procurement processes are appropriately adhered with
  • Responsible for monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting on the financial results in accordance with IFRS and supporting schedules according to monthly reporting schedule
  • Ensure performance of the monthly close procedures within the ERP system of all financial modules including uploads into the consolidation system
  • Analysis of operational results to ensure they are recorded appropriately monthly
  • Compilation of monthly financial management packs for Executives
  • Manage preparation and review of monthly balance sheet reconciliations within set deadlines. This includes management of intercompany balances/accounts
  • Preparation and review of annual budgets and quarterly forecasts
  • Manage preparation and review of all tax calculations (normal and deferred taxation) on a quarterly basis
  • Preparation, timeous submission, and payment via e-Filing monthly of VAT201 and EMP201
  • Perform monthly VAT reasonability proofs
  • Manage internal and external audits while ensuring all deliverables are provided as requested
  • Ensure SOX compliance is adhered to throughout the finance department
  • Document and maintain compliance with all company policies/Standard Operating procedures and all internal control processes within the finance department
  • Perform on a bi-annual basis the KPA review with employees directly reporting into the role
  • Annual update and review of all SOP and internal control processes specifically for SOX purposes
  • Ensure the tax clearance certificate and bank letters are valid
  • Ensure compliance with Group accounting policies
  • File, store, retrieve and safeguard source and face value documents
  • Ensure all manual journals are adequately prepared and reviewed monthly
  • Consolidate and reconcile payroll data, and prepare statutory and other payroll returns
  • Analyse and interpret data to provide financial management information for decision making
  • Ensure BEE status is monitored frequently
  • Ensure continuous Tax compliance for all divisions
  • Ensure continuous POPIA compliance
  • Ensure continuous ISO compliance
  • Ensure that the requisite AFS are prepared and reviewed in a timely manner
  • Drive and implement automated processes to ensure efficient financial processes
  • Team management and development

Must have requirements include: -

  • BCom (Accounting), plus honours (or equivalent) plus 8 years’ relevant commercial experience
  • Experience gained with a listed or multinational company
  • Strong understanding of IFRS and tax law
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role inclusive of the management of staff
  • Highly detail oriented and organized
  • Excellent corporate tax expertise
  • Excellent team management skills
  • Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines while maintaining a positive attitude
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to act and operate independently with minimal daily direction from immediate line manager to accomplish objectives
  • Advanced Excel is a must. Experience in Cognos and Microsoft AX will be an advantage
  • Experience in JSE and SoX compliance preferred
  • Must have own transport and driver’s licence
