Field Service Technician

JOB OVERVIEW (Scope of Role)

Are you the sort of tech that enjoys traveling to new places, meeting new people and working independently? MiX Telematics is seeking Field Service Technicians based in New Mexico, Oklahoma, Tennessee, South Florida or Ohio to join our supportive team that is spread out across North America. 

As a Field Service Technician, you will assist with the repairs and installation of GPS tracking devices in Semi-trucks, shipping containers, tow trucks, armored cars, and other heavy equipment. You will also assist with backend troubleshooting and quality assurance checks.

This is a remote role. You will be given a company car, however, you will also be required to fly when necessary. You will be working 40 hour weeks with possible overtime.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES  

•       Will probably be on the road 5 days a week

•       May possibly work after hours or weekends

•       Will work in extreme work environments (heat, cold, dirt, grease, refuse, well sites, etc)

•       Complete and submit expense reports, job cards and some ad-hoc reports

•       Service, install and remove GPS, ELD and interior/exterior cameras

•       Train new third party and internal technicians

•       Perform health checks and assist with product testing

•       Order and confirm consignment inventory

•       Maintain and service company vehicle as needed

•       Additional duties as needed

  Education 

MECP/ “ASE electrical” Certifications 

Experience

•

1 – 3 years of maintenance tech experience

•

12 volt industry experience 

•

Experience installing and repairing GPS devices
