MiX Telematics has a vacancy for a Business Development Specialist Fleet, based in Midrand. The main purpose of this position is to increase sales in the commercial fleet market, inclusive of both Light and Premium Fleet Solutions.

 

  Responsibilities:

  • Ownership. Assuming responsibility and accountability for the successful completion of tasks and adhering consistently to standards of excellence. Ensuring that all relevant detail has been considered. To ensure that all sales and marketing activities in the channel are aligned with the company’s overall strategy, properly focused and that individual priorities are clearly defined and prioritised. To act as the prime interface with end-users to understand their objectives and to influence their decision making process. To manage all Sales activities, to optimize our business opportunities and to influence the various phases of specification and decision making.
  • Business development. To define and implement the sales strategy for new customers through the collecting of information on market trends, customer requirements, competitor activity and by proposing service and technical development. Develop a positive relationship with business partners and distributors in assigned geographical region. To oversee all sales contracts entered into by MiX Telematics, to liaise with the Director Sales to ensure that all contracts are in line with MiX Telematics policies and meet our legal and ethical requirements in order to minimize the risk to the business.
  • CRM. Keep the CRM (SalesForce.com) system up to date with all sales related activity including (but not limited to) meeting schedules, meeting notes, contact persons, business plans, key account plans, forecast data, stock requirement data, schedule dates and sales team members.
  • Sales Target. Meet and exceed sales targets on a monthly, quarterly and yearly basis whilst maintaining the correct allocation per product portfolio.
  • Maintain and report accurate sales figures. Maintain and report accurate sales figures at all times, sales must be reported, in writing, to the Director Sales on a weekly basis. 
  • Forecasting and Sales Funnel.  Maintain an accurate forecast at all times, the sales funnel must at all times be visible to the management team and relevant stake holders in CRM.
  • Stock Forecasting. Maintain a rolling three month stock forecast of the channel to ensure sufficient stock holding.  
  • Grow the acquisition light fleet channel. Research prospective targets and channel partners using reports, and other relevant data to identify the prospective clients’ and business partners.
  • Key Account Plans. Ensure that all key account, direct and in-direct, have a well document key account plan that outlines the operational environment, operational requirement and future growth opportunities. 
  • Call Cycle. Ensure that all key accounts and key account plans have a well document call cycle across all stake holders according to customer classification.
  • Call Reports.  All customer visits must be follow up with a written call report, of which a copy must be sent to the customer within 5 working days and updated to the key account plan and CRM profile.
  • Operational Coordination. Coordinate activities with operations and other support personnel, to achieve the highest levels of customer service and satisfaction.   

Must have requirements include:

  • 4-5 years’ commercial fleet acquisition sales experience, including: -
    • Solution sales & sales admin processes
    • Account management & selling principles experience
    • All aspects of customer service
    • Telematics products and services
  • Proven track record relating to achievement of target in terms of new acquisitions with Fleet Customers.
  • Evidence of the ability to negotiate and operate in a pressurized environment.
  • Have the ability to successfully manage multiple projects from concept to delivery.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers.
  • Excellent computer proficiency (MS Office – Word, Excel and Outlook)
  • Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service.
  • Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices.

  • Code 8 Drivers License
  • Roadworthy, presentable transport.
  • Ability to travel.
